Esteghlal will face Traktor today for the final match of the National Cup in Mashhad, which is more important than anyone for Farhad Majidi, the head coach of the Tehran Blues; Not that the players and fans of both teams do not understand the importance of the game, but the events that have taken place in recent weeks, especially after the Tehran derby, have changed the situation of Farhad Majidi.
The number seven and former captain of Esteghlal, today, as the head coach, has the opportunity to make his team the champion of the National Cup for the eighth time in history; Although a title that is not easy to achieve, it can play a decisive role in the fate of Farhad Majidi and the attitude of Esteghlal fans towards this young coach.
To understand Farhad Majidi's sensitive situation, it is enough to review the events of the last few days very briefly; Farhad and his team were preparing for the derby match in the semi-finals of the FA Cup. It was reported that Ahmad Saadatmand, the club's general manager, packed his bags and traveled to Italy to sit at the negotiating table with former coach Andrea Stramaccioni.
Majidi, who felt that his rights had been betrayed and that his efforts had not been seen in this club, resigned from his position in the club after winning a long-time rival on penalties, writing a sharp text on Instagram addressed to Esteghlal's CEO. Farhad Majidi thought he was going to Italy to persuade Stramaccioni to return to Tehran to sit on the bench in his place from the new season and lead the team. Although Farhad himself had replaced Stramaccioni in the middle of the road, he complained about the behavior of the club's management and wrote that they (Esteghlal managers) were not only unhappy with the derby victory, but also saddened when they had defeated Sepahan one stage earlier. He had seen it in their faces.
